Reform

"More than any other federal legislation, Title IX has dramatically changed the course of education for women students and leaders in academics and athletics in the United States."
-"The Real Story Behind the Passage of Title IX 35 Years Ago", Women in Higher Education, 1998-2012

In the forty years since Title IX was passed, the educational landscape of the United States has changed. More women are pursuing higher education, participating in sports, and receiving legal protection against sexual harassment. By not excluding half the population, Title IX caused a social reform by sending a message to the current generation girls that their future is limitless.

"...It absolutely has made us a more educated nation...It has made us a stronger nation... instead of excluding half the population, instead of excluding women....we were missing out on half the country's brain power...talent"

"...I also want to say that in my view title IX has had a beneficial impact on every American citizen."
