"Women's USA Soccer Team. If Title IX needed a face to show
how  transforming women's sports can be, it got a team of them."
- TIME Article: Best Sports of 1999

Even though Title IX was created for education, the biggest unintended reform to date has been in sports. Through the years, women have narrowed the gap in sports inequality, but there have been some setbacks. There has been a dramatic decrease in the number of women coaches, and budget cuts have affected some non-revenue generating men's sports. Women's participation in sports has created a healthier society while giving them access to other benefits of playing sports such as leadership and perseverance.
